Bloglines is a great free service online. It is a web-based RSS-reader, you can access it from anywhere. In my opinion that is more practical than having a RSS-reader on my local computer.

Using RSS-feeds is a way to follow blogs without having to visit them all. Each post turns up in the feed, nicely collected in one place. That can be a web-based reader like Bloglines or a software in your own computer.

Update.
I do not use Bloglines any more, I prefer to subscribe to RSS by email. Using a special GMail account for that makes it easy to keep track of blog-feeds, newsletters and mailing lists.
