A list of facts about headhunters / recruiters

Over at FRACAT is a really interesting post about The Top 18 Things Job Seekers Must Know About Headhunters / Recruiters. Everyone searching for a new job should read it. There is a disclaimer saying “This is harsh, unadulterated, unaltered truth”.

The post can be summed up something like this, since the job searcher does not pay - do not expect any special service. The recruiter has a vacancy to fill, with you or with somebody else.

The recruiters I have been in touch with, in Sweden and UK, have been fair. But that is probably since I am aware of that I am in a way commodity to them and certainly not their client.

Thanks, very succintly put. We way to often forget who recruiters really work for and that we treat our clients (people who write checks) much better then our commodities (things we pay to aquire).
