To mimic Hamlet, “to focus or not to focus is the question”. A common advice about blogging is to focus on one topic but I disagree if given as a general advice to all. I think it depends on why you blog, what is your purpose and mission? My reasons for blogging are that I love to write plus that I love to share and gain knowledge. This blog is my own personal branding, to add my personality to the topics I care for.
I decided not to focus on a single topic, instead I go for a tripod. Three legs gives better balance than just having one or two. My choices are blogging, personal development and networking. These topics interest me a lot, they go well together and overlap to some extent.
My intention is to split my posts in around a dozen 15-20 categories, to make it easier to find what you are interested in. I have also added site search tags to my posts, that makes it easier to find related posts.
Topics and categories.
Blogging is in the categories blogroll, blogging tips and writing.
Networking is posted in the categories networking tips and LinkedIn.
Personal development is a wider area and include categories such as career-job, crossroads (literally as well as mental) and getting things done.
There are some more diverse posts in bits and pieces.
