Ads versus content

I came across a blog today with, in my opinion, more focus on ads than content. Looking above the fold (what is shown on screen without scrolling) about 50% was ads. Subtract the header area and there was only about 25% content. The blog post started with some Google ads, then came the text.

Since I use FlashBlock in Firefox the Flash-ad to the right is not showing up in the picture.

Screen

I might be grumpy but first impression does count. And I like blogs and websites that focus on content, content is supposed to be king. I do not mind ads but they shall be secondary. In this case the blog in question lost a reader, even though the topic of the post interests me I did leave without reading.
