Skype

Skype is not new but it is a great service. The basic service Skype to Skype (computer to computer over internet) is free. Over time Skype have added Voicemail, SkypeOut (call landlines and mobiles direct from Skype) and SkypeIn (receive calls from landline and mobile phones).

Meebo – instant messaging online

Usually instant messaging is done using a software installed on your computer. meebo.com is a new alternative, you can use the big five (AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber/GTalk) from one platform online.
I am using Meebo and it works nicely. Since I use Firefox as webbrowser it is easy to have Meebo running in a tab.

Bloglines

Bloglines is a great free service online. It is a web-based RSS-reader, you can access it from anywhere. In my opinion that is more practical than having a RSS-reader on my local computer.
