XING started showing ads on personal profile pages. That resulted in a heated and intense debate in the German section of the Xing forum. Little trickled over into the English section which is strange. Xing claims to be international, yet the company management ignores the discussion in English. Now you can show which online network you belong to. There is a LinkedIn Web Store as well as a XING Shop. It is a smart way for the networking sites to get some marketing done in the real world by people who (usually) can market their services too.

Yesterday XING launched a new feature called Marketplace. At present Marketplace has the category job openings but there are inactive buttons for services and real estate.
All XING users can view postings and search the Marketplace. Posters have the option of allowing postings to be accessed via Google.

XING is launched today. It is openBC that has changed name and look plus added features which makes the online networking easier. I like openBC/XING, there are forums with interesting discussions and I have met interesting people, online as well as (some of them) offline.
